Hello JK parents!

What a beautiful Monday! The JK's enjoyed having the sun out today for outdoor exploration time.

Here are a few things we did today:

Daily 5/Language-We practiced our phonetic skills, listening to a read a loud that focused on the word family "ed."  The book was titled Ted in a Red Bed, the students had to determine which words in the story belonged in the "ed" family.

Art-Ms. Kerr had the students explore Art Centers today and used a variety of manipulative to create different things.

French-Ms. Hou challenged the JK's to colour pictures that were petit (small) or grand (big).

Math-I told the students that they were going to have a test today on Measurement, each student had to classify on their own which pictures were Big or Small.

Reminders:

-Legoland trip is on May 10th, please be at school by 9 am!!! Students are to dress in gym uniforms and parents who are volunteering, we will meet you there for 10 am.
-In class Spelling Bee will take place on May 11th, I will ask each student five random words from the list sent home.  The top three students will be chosen to move on to the School Spelling Bee Competition.
-Spelling Bee Competition will take place May 15th.  I have sent a form explaining the rules for the Spelling Bee Competition and the list of words in your child's Take Home bags.
-P.D. Day on May 19th and Victoria Day on May 22nd, the school is CLOSED.
-Casual Day is on May 31st.
