Hello JK parents!

What a beautiful day!  The JK's enjoyed exploring outside today for recess and the student who went on the trip also had a lot of fun at the indoor playground.
Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The JK's were engaged in Literacy Centers and practiced their letter sound skills, using puzzles and picture and word cards.
Language-We used our imagination and pretended that our classroom was a forest and we searched for birds!  The JK's looked for picture and word cards of different types of birds around the classroom.
Science/Math-We took a closer look at the plants that we are growing in class and investigated why some were taller than others.  The students also determined who's plant was the tallest by comparing sizes.

Reminder:
-End of Unit phone calls/emails are coming up soon, if you have a request please let me know via email or agenda by Friday, May 5th.  Parents who do not have a request will receive a short email review.
-Legoland trip is on May 10th, please be at school by 9 am!!! Students are to dress in gym uniforms and parents who are volunteering, we will meet you there for 10 am.
-Spelling Bee Competition will take place May 15th.  I have sent a form explaining the rules for the Spelling Bee Competition and the list of words in your child's Take Home bags.
-P.D. Day on May 19th and Victoria Day on May 22nd, the school is CLOSED.
-Casual Day is on May 31st.
