It was a cold and rainy day today, but we still had a lot of fun learning today!
Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The JK's explored books in the Book Area in their own or with a partner, they looked for short words in the books that they were able to spell or read on their own.
French-Ms. Hou had the students classifying animals by size.
Language-We did our first class guided reading with a mammals booklet, we read the story together in a circle.
Math-The students practiced their measuring skills with a leaf activity, the JK's had to determine and put in order which leafs are the shortest to tallest.
Reminder:
-End of Unit phone calls/emails are coming up soon, if you have a request please let me know via email or agenda by Friday, May 5th. Parents who do not have a request will receive a short email review.
-Legoland trip is on May 10th, please be at school by 9 am!!! Students are to dress in gym uniforms and parents who are volunteering, we will meet you there for 10 am.
-Spelling Bee Competition will take place May 15th. I have sent a form explaining the rules for the Spelling Bee Competition and the list of words in your child's Take Home bags.
-P.D. Day on May 19th and Victoria Day on May 22nd, the school is CLOSED.
-Casual Day is on May 31st.
