Hello JK parents!

It was another beautiful day outside today! Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The students were engaged in Literacy Centers and used a variety of manipulative to practice their phonetic and printing skills.
French-Ms. Hou had the students make Mother's Day crafts, the JK's practiced their cutting and pasting skills.
Mother's Day Activity-Each JK was busy creating Mother's Day gifts! It is a surprise, so there are no pictures of the students working on them!
Gym-Mr. McDonald had the students practice some track & field drills outside to get the students ready for Friday's event.

Reminders:
-Tomorrow is our trip to Legoland!  Please have your child here at school by 9:00 am, they will not be bringing their back packs or lunch bags as food will be provided for them there.  We will be missing our morning snack, so prevent the students from getting hungry on their way there a large breakfast in the morning would be helpful =)  Students are also to be wearing their gym uniforms.  Parents who are volunteering, we will meet you there from 10:00 am and you must provide your own lunch.
-In class Spelling Bee will take place on May 11th, I will ask each student five random words from the list sent home.  The top three students will be chosen to move on to the School Spelling Bee Competition.
-Spelling Bee Competition will take place May 15th.  I have sent a form explaining the rules for the Spelling Bee Competition and the list of words in your child's Take Home bags.
-P.D. Day on May 19th and Victoria Day on May 22nd, the school is CLOSED.
-Casual Day is on May 31st.
