Happy Friday! The JK's stayed indoors all day today, but they did get some gross motor activities accomplished today at Gym with Mr. McDonald. He was also getting them ready for next week's Track & Field Day. The JK's did a great job listening to the different grade 6 presentations that were going in early in the day. Some of the topics that we observed were about immigration and pollution. The JK's were excited to have another Show & Tell day and did a great job presenting what they had brought in.
Here are a few more things we did today:
Daily 5-The students explored Literacy Centers and engaged with a variety of manipulative that helped them to practice their phonetic and letter recognition skills.
French-Ms. Hou had the students practice more animal vocabulary words, using picture cards and actions.
Reminder:
-End of Unit phone calls/emails are coming up soon, if you have a request please let me know via email or agenda by Friday, May 5th. Parents who do not have a request will receive a short email review.
-Legoland trip is on May 10th, please be at school by 9 am!!! Students are to dress in gym uniforms and parents who are volunteering, we will meet you there for 10 am.
-Spelling Bee Competition will take place May 15th. I have sent a form explaining the rules for the Spelling Bee Competition and the list of words in your child's Take Home bags.
-P.D. Day on May 19th and Victoria Day on May 22nd, the school is CLOSED.
-Casual Day is on May 31st.
