Hello JK parents!

I hope everyone had a great weekend, especially all the mother's! We started the day off with a school Spelling Bee Competition!  We are so very proud of all the JK students and the hard work they had put in, the top three students that were chosen for our class were: Armaan, Izyan and Veda!  The three students did very well, Armaan made it to second place for both JK classes! Congratulations to everyone!  I would also like to introduce you to Anne, who is a co-op student that will be joining our class until the end of the school year.  She is finishing up her Early Childhood Education Degree from St. Lawrence College, she also has her Child and Youth Worker Degree from Humber College.
Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The JK's listened to a read a loud titled Hen's Pen, it focuses on the word family "en."  The students had to identify which words had "en" as an ending sound.
Language-The students were focused and worked really hard on their writing assessments today.
Math/UOI-We explored Measurement using measuring tape and had the opportunity to determine which animal toys were the longest or shortest.

Reminders:
--P.D. Day on May 19th and Victoria Day on May 22nd, the school is CLOSED.
-Casual Day is on May 31st.
