I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend. The JK's were very excited to share stories about what they did, during a sharing circle today. We were also very excited to see the egg hatch and our plants growing into plants!
Here are a few things we did today:
Art-Ms. Kerr had the students explore their creative side while creating Earth Day projects.
Daily 5-The JK's listened to a read a loud story titled Earth Day Every Day, which introduced a variety of ways we can help keep our planet clean for Earth Week!
Language-The students worked on practicing their printing and early spelling skills with a Journal writing activity. We first brainstormed ways in which we can help keep the earth clean and wrote down and drew pictures of our ideas.
Science/UOI-The JK's were excited to learn more about water pollution and the effects it has on animals that live in it with a fun experiment.
Reminders:
-Spring Fundraiser forms and money are due tomorrow!!!
-Earth Day Spirit Dress Up day is on April 21st, students may dress up in blue or green. Our school (JK to grade 2) will be participating in a school wide clean up to do our part for Earth Day! We encourage parents to bring in garden or winter gloves for your child to use to help pick up garbage on that day. Gloves can also be purchased for $2 and are due to be brought in by April 20th.
