Hello JK parents!

The students had a productive second day back! Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The JK's requested to practice forming short words, using picture/word cards and letter blocks.  Some examples of short words they had to form were: Cat, hat, cold, dog, etc.
Language-We reviewed the letter C sound and practiced our lower case c printing skills in our HWT booklets.
Math-We started our new unit in Math on Geometry! We explored 2D shapes, such as circle, triangle, square, rectangle, diamond, heart and hexagon.  The JK's had to name and match shape cards to the correct shape on the chart.

Reminders:
-Transportation photo of your child (riding a bike, on an airplane, holding a toy plane or car), please bring in or email to me by tomorrow.
-School Bake Sale will take place January 24th & 25th, it is our turn to bring in the yummy treats!  Please remember that the treats need to be nut free.
-International Day takes place Friday, January 20th.
-The grade 6 students will be holding a Candy Sale on January 16th & 17th to raise money to donate to the Sick kids Foundation, if your child would like to participate please bring in change in a labelled zip lock bag.
