Hello JK parents!

Happy Monday!!! We have a busy and fun week of learning! This week the JK's will focus on 3D shapes, lower case letter v and w and different types of transportation.
Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The JK's explored literacy centers today and practiced their letter recognition skills, using a variety of manipulatives.
Language-We worked on our lower case letter v printing skills in our HWT booklets and each student had the opportunity to practice their letter name and sound skills, using picture and word cards.
Math-The JK's were introduced to 3D shapes with a fun song and classifying game.

Reminders:
-The SJA policy for birthday celebrations at school is that due to food allergies in our classroom and school, students are not allowed to bring in food treats.  We encourage parents to bring in non food items for the class, if you would like.  As a JK class, I make a special birthday crown and we sing Happy Birthday to each of the students celebrating.
-Parent and Teacher emails and phone calls are coming up in the next few weeks, please let me know if you would prefer email or phone call to go over your child's progress.  If you do not have a specific request, I will email you a short review of how your child is doing at school before report cards are sent home.
-Reading Graphs sent home February 9th.
-JK 2D Shape Show and Tell February 10th.  Each student is to bring in an item that is a 2D shape and will present on that day.
