Hello JK parents!

Today to celebrate Spirit Week, the teachers and students wore bright colours and had crazy hair!  Unfortunately, the fire truck and fire fighters were not able to make it today due to an emergency they had to attend too.  The JK's still had a lot of fun learning more about fire safety, while watching a video and practicing some fire safety procedures.  The students continued to work on their Counting at the Fire Station booklets.

Reminders:
-Tomorrow is Superhero and Princess Day! Students may come dressed up as a superhero or princess.
-March 9th is house Colours Day!
-March 10th is St. Patrick's Day Colours!
-March Break from the 13th to 24th.
-Casual Day is on March 29th.
-Report Cards go home March 31st.

Hello JK parents!

We are so excited for this last week of school before our March Break holiday!  Everyone looked so comfy and cozy in their PJ's for Pajama Day!  We started our day off this morning with a house game and enjoyed making up pajama patterns with a PJ activity.  The students also engaged in hands on Literacy and Math Centers and had fun relaxing with Mrs. Padovan's class with an afternoon movie!

Reminders:
-Fire Truck visit tomorrow from 9-11 am.
-Crazy Hair Day and Colourful Clothes Day!  Students may come to school tomorrow with crazy hair and wearing colourful clothing.

The students were all bundled up today during their outdoor exploration time.  I was also blown away by all the hard work that was put into the Transportation Projects! The other teachers and students were also impressed with what the JK's created.  Everyone did an excellent job presenting their projects!

It's a cold day outside and the JK's were all bundled up for outdoor exploration time.
Here are few things we did today:
Daily 5-The JK's had a lot of fun engaging in hands on activities during Literacy Centers.
Language-The students played SPLAT again, this time practicing their letter name and sound recognition skills.  The Jk's also practiced their short word and sentence printing skills in their HWT booklets.
Math-The students enjoyed creating a variety of 2D shapes using pegboards and elastics.

The Fire Truck visit is on Tuesday, March 7th from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
-Transportation project and presentation will be tomorrow.

Hello JK parents!

The JK's did another great job listening during the Poem Competition between St. Jude's Academy and the Maple School.
Daily 5-The students listened to a read a loud story titled Being a Leader.  The JK's discussed how being a role model and making good choices.
Language-The JK's had  a lot of fun playing the SPLAT game, using picture and word cards that begin with the letter u.
Math/UOI-The students worked on their number recognition and printing skills with a transportation and number booklet.

Reminders:
-Transportation Projects are due March 3rd, students are to present their transportation projects to the class.
