Hello JK parents!
Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a great weekend! There is a Christmas market and Santa Claus parade happening in Streetsville this weekend!
Here are a few things we did today:
The JK's had the opportunity to observe and vote for their favorite cars that the grade 6 students created as a class project.
Daily 5-The students practiced their name printing skills with the help of their name booklets.
Language-The JK's used bingo dabbers to create upper and lower case letter O's.
Math-We worked on the carpet again and in pairs to create repeating shape and colour patterns using picture cards and geometric shapes.
Reminders:
-Bake Sale November 28th and 29th, if your child would like to participate please have a labelled zip lock bag with the money inside.
-Report cards are going home in each of the students Take Home bags.
-Parent and Teacher interview request sheets have been sent out via email. If you would like to request a time slot, please send back as soon as possible (it is a first come first serve basis).

Hello JK parents!
Thank you so much to all the parents who came to visit our Science Fair today! Everyone did a great job presenting!
Daily 5-The students requested to listen to a read a loud Franklin's Bad Day, they talked about how to deal with mad and sad feelings.
French-Ms. Hou continued to work on shapes and colours with the JK's.
Language-We learned more about the letter O, we practiced phonetic sounds and printing in our HWT booklets.
Art-To make up for missing our Art with Ms. Kerr, we made fall tree leaf art!
Reminders:
-December Hot Lunch money and forms are due November 25th.
-Scholastic orders are due November 25th.
-Bake Sale November 28th and 28th.

Hello JK parents!
Happy Wednesday! Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The students listened to a read a loud titled Froggy Gets Dressed, it helped to students with what order to put their winter clothing on.
Language-The JK's learned more about the sound and letter formation of the letter O. The students matched picture and letter O word cards and practiced their printing skills.
Math-We all worked in partners to create our own repeating patterns using geometric shapes on the carpet today.
Science Fair-We discussed the experiments we did this week and came up with a conclusion, we also practiced our presentation for the judges tomorrow for the Science Fair.
Reminders:
-Science Fair will be open to parents and guardians tomorrow at 2:45 pm.
-Scholastic book orders are due November 25th.
-December Hot Lunch orders and money are due November 25th.

Hello JK parents!
It's another cold day outside today!
Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The students wanted to create letters using the snap cubes today.
Language-We worked on our letter C printing and sound skill, using short word cards and our HWT booklets.
Science Fair-We did two more trials today with our "How to Make Rain Clouds" experiment. This time we had three different measurements of shaving cream (clouds), to see if it will make a difference. The student also learned more about the word evaporation and what it means.
Reminders:
-Hot Lunch food orders are due November 25th.
-Scholastic orders are due November 25th.
-The Science Fair will be open to the parents in the afternoon on November 24th. An email has been sent to all the parents regarding the time.

I hope everyone had a fun filled weekend! Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The students took some quiet time for themselves and looked at books in the Book Area, each student had to look for the letter C in each of their books.
Language-We practiced our letter C sounds and printing skills, using picture word cards.
Science Fair-To get us ready for this weeks Science Fair, the class learned about what a water cycle was and how rain cloud were created! Today was our first trial for our experiment, using water, food colouring and shaving cream.
Reminders:
-The cold winter weather is upon us, please have your child dressed accordingly to accommodate their outdoor exploration time (e.g. winter coat, boots, gloves, hat, snow pants and scarf/neck warmer).
-December Hot Lunch forms and money are due November 25th.
-Scholastic orders are due November 25th.
