Hello JK parents!
Today is the big day!
We were all busy practicing and performing for the Christmas concert! We can't wait to see everyone today at noon or 7:00 pm at night.
The JK's are all very excited and only one more day until Christmas break!
We worked on some Christmas activities and had a lot of fun sharing a class with Mrs. Padovan's JK class for indoor recess today.

Hello JK parents!
We only have two more days until Christmas break! This year so far has been really amazing with all the learning and progress that I have observed with this class. They truly are the best JK class ever!!! I am excited for next year and all the new things we will explore as a class.
Here are a few things we did today:
To prepare for tomorrow's Christmas Concert, we were all busy practicing and had the opportunity to watch the whole performance! The JK's were excited to share their plans for the Christmas holidays and created some colourful ornaments to take home and place on their trees.
Reminders:
-School Christmas Concert will take place tomorrow at 12:00 noon and 7:00 pm. Students are to come to school dressed in Christmas colours. Students who are attending the night time concert are to be dropped off in our classroom no later than 6:45 pm.

Hello JK parents!
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and is ready for the holidays, only a few days left!!!
Here are a few things we did today:
The students enjoyed listening to a few Christmas stories today, Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman! Each student also had the opportunity to practice their sequencing skills and imagination, creating their own snowmen and snow-ladies, The JK's used stickers, construction paper and pencil crayons to create snowflakes. We were busy all day practicing for the Christmas concert.
Reminders:
-Bake Sale tomorrow and Wednesday, if you would like you child to participate please have money in a labelled zip lock bag.
-School Christmas Concert will take place on December 21st at 12:00 noon and 7:00 pm. Students are to come to school that day dressed in Christmas colours (red, green, white).
-Last day of school before Christmas holidays is December 22nd. School will begin again January 11th, 2017.

Hello JK parents!
I hope everyone has a safe drive home and that you are keeping warm!
Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The students listen to a read a loud story tilted If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
Math-The students each had the opportunity to share the patterns they were wearing or bought in today for Patterns Day!
Winter Activity-We all worked on creating winter hats, using construction paper, cotton balls, glue and crayons.
Reminder:
-School Christmas Concert will take place on December 21st at 12:00 noon and 7:00 pm. Students are to come to school wearing Christmas colours and are to be dropped off by 6:45 pm if they are attending the night time concert. We are still accepting non perishable food items as your "ticket" to the concert. Thank you to everyone who has donated already =)

Hello JK parents!
It was a very cold day outside today, the students enjoyed playing inside and exploring new activities in Ms. Padovan's class. We also have bitter sweet news to share, next week will Ms. Bosetti's last week with the JK class, we wish her good luck with her future en devours.
Here are a few more things we did today:
Daily 5-The JK's used magnetic alphabets to create their names and short words.
Language-We continued learning the formation, sound and name of the letter J. The students also practiced printing upper case J in their HWT booklets.
Math-We collaborated as a class to answer the question "My favorite winter activity" on chart paper and counted which activity the class chose more/less.
Reminders:
-Registration packages for next year will be due in February 2017. Please fill them up and return as soon as possible to secure a spot for your child the next coming school year!
-JK Patterns Day is tomorrow, students are to wear or bring in an item with a pattern. Each student will present their pattern to the class.
-After School care fees are due December 19th.

Math-The students reviewed their data management skills with a elf or reindeer graphing activity.

-JK Pattern Day is on December 16th, students may wear or bring in something that has a pattern on it. Each student will present their patterns.

It was another cold and snowy day today and the JK's were all bundled up to explore the outdoors.
Here are a few things we did today:
Daily 5-The students practiced their letter recognition skills using magnetic letters, they also tried spelling their names and short words.
French-Ms. Hou had the students match Christmas french words.
Language-The JK's were engaged with an I Spy game, looking for the letter I in the classroom. They also practiced their letter I printing skills in their HWT booklets.
Math-We reviewed our sequencing skills with a fun Christmas tree activity, the students had to determine which was first, next and last.
Reminders:
-January Hot Lunch forms and money are due December 16th.
-JK Patterns Day is on December 16th.
-Last day of school before Christmas holidays is December 22nd. The first day of school back will be January 11th, 2017.
-School Christmas Concert is on December 21st. Please donate a non persihable food item as you "ticket" to the concert.
